The Grom is a rare high tier bullpup assault rifle, with players often citing it as one of the better ARs in Deadside.
Going through its strengths, it has decent recoil, excellent handling, competitive damage output, its 7.62x39 cartridge is widely available in the field, and it doesn't require many modifications out of the box to perform at this level. Plus, its bullpup configuration allows this weapon to have the overall length of an SMG, making it easier to use in close quarters. This set of strengths allows this weapon to be competitive in a spray battle with really any other automatic weapon, even if they are fully modded out.
However, this weapon does come with a few trade-offs for its performance. For example, the very low default recoil comes with the trade-off of being non-upgradeable. This is because of the foregrip/muzzle attachment in the front, which prevents any other muzzle devices to be installed. This foregrip/muzzle attachment is also probably part of why this weapon isn't very accurate despite having a 16in barrel. Still, its accuracy is still acceptable at medium ranges, being the same as the AK-SM. Its last drawback is the tall optics mount, which can block parts of your screen with certain optics installed, and possibly cause height over bore issues at extremely close range. But, considering that experienced players can deal with the minimal height over bore difference, the mount isn't really a big drawback.
Considering that these trade-offs are relatively minor, the Grom offers a lot out of the box for its high price.
The Grom is based off the real life OTs-14-1A “Groza”, and its basically a bullpup conversion AKM with some extra furniture.
