This was the first vehicle to be implemented into Deadside, and it offers durable transportation for large squads. Compared to the smaller Inflatable Boats, these have much higher durability, more storage slots, more seats for players, and higher storage capacity. However, this boat is slower, much louder, and less maneuverable. This makes the Swamp Boats ideal for players looking to transport lots of items and players, for long periods of time. The slow speed and loud noise means that any players using this boat will have to be prepared for a fight on the water, as its very easy for other players to spot you and take shots.
Because of the large surface area of the boat, walking around the boat while moving is quite safe, so long as you don't slip off or jump while moving. This makes it possible to transport more than 5 players, without requiring more seats. This also means you can move your player on the boat while shooting, which can be valuable during a naval PvP fight. Though as will both boats, being in a seat gives your player the ability to negate weapon sway entirely, so different situations will require different player positions on the boat. In either case, make sure you don't decide to get out of your seat while the boat is moving, as it will likely throw your character off the side.
Swamp Boats will typically spawn with at least a third of its fuel, giving you around 10 minutes of runtime. If your fuel gets low, find a Fuel Can to refill the tank.
Boats will always spawn at full health, but in the case your boat is damaged, find and use a Transport Repair Kit.
Swamp boats can currently spawn at many possible points around rivers, lakes and coastlines, see the map page HERE for all 38 spawn locations.
The controls for the driver are quite simple, use WASD to go forwards, backwards, and to steer. In order to steer, you will need to provide some sort of forward or backwards movement
The driver can use N to use the horn, and T to toggle the overhead light
Passengers can switch seat quickly by pressing G, but they can only switch between open seats.
As the motor and fan blades are very loud many players employ the new EARPLUGS (default key Y) but beware this will also muffle any incoming gunshot sounds too!
