¶ Weapon Overview
The VSD is a high tier DMR, that does a large amount of damage per shot, with the drawback of a slow rate of fire. Compared to the NK417, the VSD has about the same theoretical time to kill, however, the VSD can get kills in fewer shots because of its higher damage. This makes the VSD better suited to longer range combat, where accuracy is more important that volume of fire. At close ranges though, the NK417 has a clear advantage. The VSD has only 10 rounds in each magazine, and it has much worse weapon handling, and slower reload times. Because of its high damage, and common ammunition, this weapon is perfect for quickly and safely clearing out high tier PvE events.
The VSD is based on the real life SVD, commonly called the “Dragunov”, which is the name of the weapons designer.
