Raiding is an end game activity that allows players to use Explosive Charges to break into the bases of other players, and take their loot. Raiding in Deadside is online only, so getting a raid to activate can require a bit of legwork. This also means that the vast majority of the time, the player you are attempting to raid will be online and defending their base. Raids are marked on the map in a big red circle, so third parties are bound to show up looking for a fight.
To start a raid, you will need to activate a players Raid Token. These items will spawn on the dead body of a player 33% of the time on official servers, and only when the player is killed by another player. When a Raid Token is dropped, the base owner will get a notification that they have dropped a raid token. Once you track down the base owners body, you can find and loot their Raid Token if they dropped one. Right click on the token, and hit use to activate the raid. You can also wait to activate the raid until you are prepared for it, however this will give the base owners time to prepare as well. Until the raid is activated, Base owners can build and destroy base objects like normal, making your raid potentially more difficult. You also have the option to destroy the Raid Token, which simply despawns the item. This is useful if you are trying to recover your own Raid Token, or a squad members Token.
Once the Raid Token has been activated, a few things happen. First, a notification will be sent to the entire server that a new Base Raid is available. The Base owner will also get a notification, informing them that their base is now Raid-able. Next, the Raid-able Base members will lose the ability to interact with their base structures, they can no longer build or destroy any object. Finally, the Raid-able Base will me marked inside of a Red Raid Circle on the map. Somewhere inside of this red circle is the Raid-able Base, and its up to the raiders to find it. Usually its not that difficult, as the Raid-able Base will typically have defenders online peaking out of windows.
Once you have located the Raid-able Base, you will need Explosive Charges to break in. One explosive charge will destroy any object that its placed on. There is no splash damage from explosions on Base Objects, so the only object that will be destroyed is the one that the charge is physically placed onto. There are some objects like stairs and foundations that cannot be broken, but any type of wall and floor can be easily removed. Be very careful when destroying floors if you do not know what is above the floor, because anything placed on top of it, like storage crates, will be destroyed as well.
The Base Owners will usually have the advantage in a Raid, as they will have many respawns, and plenty of gear to use. This can be mitigated however, with clever use of Respawn Beacons, weapons like the GRM-40, and R-5 or F-10 Grenades.
